Cellphone Conduct 101

December 3rd, 2009

It’s a bit irksome when you’re in a diner and someone from the next table suddenly bellows out in laughter; or worse; talks animatedly at the top of their lungs as if the person they’re talking to is on top of a mountain! You turn around only to find the person deep in conversation with another on his cellphone.

You begin to see that everyone from the surrounding tables are likewise giving the person annoyed looks and whispering among themselves just how rude this person is. Unfortunately, this is not a rare occasion.

Several people have this habit of yammering on their cellular phones as if they’re the only ones in the room and not in a public place. Lest you become one of them, it’s best to have your cellphone ethics checked.

CELLPHONE CONDUCT

When in a public place, we don’t go around chatting as if we were broadcasting the daily news that everyone should hear. This goes as well to cellphone conversations. It’s a private conversation that should stay private – just between you and the person on the other line.

If you’re in a restaurant, in a crowded room or somewhere that people are just a few feet away from you; you should move away from the crowd or excuse yourself from the table to take the call in private.

In theaters, public commutes, libraries and other places where silence is followed; it’s wise to direct all calls to your voice mail and have your phone in vibrate mode. Naturally, if you are on a date, taking phone calls on your cellular is a big turn-off! You don’t want your date to think you’d rather converse with someone else when you’re with them.

PHONE SAFETY

One of the most important things to also keep in mind when talking about phone ethics is that behaving in a way that you are not so focused on your cellphone and your calls could ultimately save your life – particularly if you are behind the wheel. There have been numerous accidents caused by a driver losing focus because they were candidly talking to someone on their phones.

Whether you have your Bluetooth headset on or you are on hands-free mode, the fact is that your focus is divided between driving and chatting on your cellular. You won’t only be endangering yourself, you will also be endangering other people on the street.

Samsung Cellphone: A Mobile Phone For Everyone

November 27th, 2009

Samsung has been releasing some great cellphones during the past few years. Helped by some really good design these phones have attracted a rather big fan base. Hereunder you will find the review of three Samsung cellphones that have received some positive responses.

First of all we have the Samsung S8300 UltraTOUCH which was launched in early 2009 that is worth considering.

The phone comes with 2.8 inch capacitive touchscreen display (quite small compared to phone of the same category) and an alphanumeric keypad. It also features a good 8 MP camera that will provide you with some really good pictures and the flash will even allow you to take pictures in dark areas. However the downside is that there is no Wi-Fi connectivity available on this phone-only 3G. All in all it is pretty much a decent phone when you take the price into account.

The second phone that we will consider is the Omnia HD. When we hear HD our expectations are automatically higher expecting a real difference. The question that you might be asking is whether the phone can deliver. First of all it comes with a 3.7 inch AMOLED touchscreen display that is really responsive to the slightest of your move. It also features a 8 MP camera with LED flash and auto focus to guarantee some really good picture quality. At this stage we will perhaps regret the absence of a Xenon flash. In terms of connectivity the Omnia HD has both 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity available. The Omnia HD is really good when it comes to picture quality as its name implies. Recommended for Samsung fans.

The third Samsung phone that is worth considering is the Omnia II. The most interesting fact is undoubtedly its processor which guarantees some pretty good performance. The Omnia II is built upon the Windows Mobile Operating System ensuring that you will have access to some great software. In terms of connectivity this Samsung cellphone features both a Wi-Fi and 3G connection for some quick access to the internet. Other notable features of the Omnia II cellphone is the 5 MP camera with auto focus. And the 3.7″ touchscreen display also serves well its purpose when it comes to usability. A recommended phone if you are looking for a well-rounded phone.

Mr. Lance used to be a phone salesman, so he should really know his way around Samsung mobiltelefon and other brands of modern cellphones.
