How To Transfer Content From One Xbox 360 Hard DriveTo Another

March 11th, 2010

This article explains how to transfer the hard drive for xbox 360 using the Drive Transfer Kit to transfer all content from one hard drive to another

You will need :

An Xbox 360 console

Two Xbox 360 hard drives

Data transfer cable (included with the Xbox 360 Hard Drive Transfer Kit)

This may be included when you buy the Xbox 360 Hard Drive

Data transfer software program (included with the Xbox 360 Hard Drive Transfer Kit)

The Xbox 360 Hard Drive Transfer Kit transfers all content to another hard drive. Read the users guide which you get with the Xbox 360 Hard Drive Transfer Kit.

You can transfer all content from one Xbox 360 hard drive (this is called the “source”) to another Xbox 360 hard drive (this is referred to as the “destination”). The content from the source hard drive overwrites the data on the destination hard drive.

Needless to say data is only able to be moved to another hard drive so long as the destination hard drive is the same size or greater than the source hard drive

When the transfer is finished, the content on the destination hard drive will be replaced with the content from the source hard drive. This content will include your saved games and Xbox LIVE downloads. When the transfer is complete, the content on the source hard disk is erased.

Film rentals

Movies you’ve rented on the source hard drive will not be accessible after the move. Make sure that you watch all Xbox LIVE Marketplace movie rentals prior to using the Hard Drive Transfer Kit.

Using the Hard Drive Transfer Kit

Warning with any transfer, there is a small risk that some or all your content may be lost during the process.

Only one hard drive can be connected to your Xbox 360 console at a time. The transfer cable can’t be used to connect multiple hard drives to your console at the same time.

To transfer all content from one hard drive to another

Turn off your Xbox 360 console with your existing hard drive (the “source” drive) attached.

Disconnect all accessories from the console.

Switch on the console. Connect a controller and switch it on. You have got to use a controller during the content transfer.

Connect the transfer cable to the hard drive that you are moving content to (the “destination” hard drive).

Important The transfer cable connects to the destination hard drive in only one direction. Do not force the connector on.

Connect the transfer cable to the destination hard drive in the orientation shown below.

Plug the other end of the transfer cable into the USB port on the back of your Xbox 360 console.

Important Do not plug the transfer cable into a USB port on the front of your Xbox 360 console.

Load the Xbox 360 Hard Drive Transfer Disc (included with the transfer kit) into your Xbox 360 console. Instructions will appear on the screen

The transfer process can take more than 60 minutes, depending on the amount of content on the source hard drive.

The Xbox Dashboard is not available during the content transfer.

If the transfer is interrupted for any reason, your data will remain on the source hard drive. You are able to restart the transfer process at any time until the process is finished.

Taking A Look At Purchasing An XBOX 360 Bundle ?. Things To Consider

February 13th, 2010

If you are looking at buying a brand new XBOX then there\’s a choice of just two types the Arcade and Elite – there were other types but they are now discontinued. The massive trouble with the Arcade is the disk drive – its capacity is only 256 Megabytes this means that you will not possess the ability to download nearly all game demos and definitely not all films. You have been warned. Only purchase an Arcade if you don\’t wish to download !.

A lot of people look at buying a bundle ie console and games and so on.. The main aspect to consider when comparing Xbox bundles is the main system and their individual specs as well as their retail price if purchased singularly.

A typical Xbox bundle consists of the console in addition to at least two game titles. As part of the bundle you may also get something like a wireless controller or maybe trial membership to Xbox Live (this gives you access to online gaming). It is worth mentioning that you must connect the system directly to your wireless router or buy a wireless network adaptor. This adaptor is not normally part of a bundle.

So the best thing to do if you want the best value out of your Xbox 360 bundle would be to , compare the individual cost of all included game titles and accessories and obviously add that to the price of the console. Often the bundle can include an unpopular title which will be unpopular for obvious reasons !. Preferably you want a bundle with two well-known and popular titles.

Do not forget the size of the hard drive is critical if you are going to be performing lots of downloads. Look at 120GB at least if you are planning on doing a great deal of gaming !.

It is certainly possible to find an Xbox bundle that actually saves you money over purchasing each product individually.

The History Of Xbox360 Explained

January 30th, 2010

Welcome to my Xbox360 blogpost. This report will detail the history of Xbox360. The Xbox360 was coined after a marketing firm that it hired conducted a survey which asked people whether they thought the Xbox name evoked a more \”next generation\” or \”next-gen\” sound. It was apparent that Microsoft was having some worries at that time that sticking to Xbox2 as the name of its new video game console would make it appear or sound older or less \”cutting-edge\” than its main rival, the PlayStation 3 or PS3.

Keeping this concept in mind, Microsoft announced initially that it has successfully produced a set of fresh 360 backwards compatibility update of the Xbox which the firm is scheduled to release anytime within the week. This is in keeping with the company\’s commitment to concentrate on the continuous improvement of the console\’s features. Peter Moore, the game\’s top honcho, said the updates are presently having their final testing at Microsoft. This created a huge buzz.

Aside from the compatibility updates, the Xbox360 is also was reported to have a special feature that has the capability to perform maintenance functions in the console\’s storage devices. A player, who recently purchased a copy of the video game, said the console\’s cache can be cleared simply by going to the system blade, then to its memory. From there, the player said, one can press Y on either the HDD or the MU. The said player consequently posted his observations on one of the console\’s numerous websites.

A Microsoft representative did confirm the existence of the said feature. However, he tried to make it clear to those who purchased the Xbox game console that while the HDD clearing feature is a part of the game\’s entire electronic processing system, it is also a part of the technical support process. Ideally, it should only be utilized in instances when technical operations are involved. Moore said that while the said Xbox360 feature, when utilized, will not really harm or cause severe damage to the console, still it is recommended that it be used only a few times and only upon proper instructions from a qualified Microsoft customer service staff member.

The latest model of the Xbox is considerably smaller in size than its predecessor. It also has the obvious looks of a 21st century set top box. In addition, the game also contains a removable hard drive that is located on the left side of the console.

In general, the Xbox360 is, for all intents and purposes, a most powerful console, a truly next generation video game that has amazing top-of-the-line and cutting-edge features. It promises to provide an amazing digital visual enjoyment. The latest Xbox has a variety of hot as well as new game titles ranging from science-fiction, to adventure, to action, to sports, and to practically anything that the human mind can imagine.
