Office Gifting Do’s And Don’ts

March 16th, 2010

When giving out gifts to your colleagues at work, there are usually many factors to take into account and you need to make sure that what you tend to be giving out is appropriate as possible. I’ve received a lot of gifts that did not really do me virtually any good and only brought me more problems to start with. A number of which includes a gift certificate for Starbucks that is not even enough to purchase a small coffee unless you add cash to it, a pirated DVD of an old film I have in never heard of, a set of Christmas balls that have a ripped box and a mug that has a crack.

It’s funny to find gifts like these knowing that you have no use for any of it. So just for other people’s sake, I am coming up with a tested and approved list of gift-giving do’s and don’ts to make sure that what you are giving is something that the recipient will surely appreciate because it is something that they can use.

To be able to maintain peace and order among your colleagues at work, make certain to come up with gifts that are precisely the same value. If available, you may buy various goods in bulk to get more discounts and to avoid envy among your gift recipients. Based on my own experience, individuals have a tendency to show and tell the gifts they got from someone and if one finds that the gift you gave to him or her seem way cheaper than what you got for the others, she or he will undoubtedly feel awful regarding it and you do not want that.

Try to stay away from giving out perfumes, colognes, facial products such as moisturizers, facial wash or anything that could trigger any skin irritations due to chemical reaction. Everyone has a different skin type from others and what works for your skin might only harm them. And please be mindful of your colleagues’ culture, belief or religion. You don’t want to give something that could be blasphemous for them and you’ll only end up insulting them. They might take this negatively and get back at you. The least thing you can do is to do a little research about your colleague’s culture first before buying them a gift according to your belief.

Do come up with a gift that is truly unique and practical. This means that it is something new, something that they can learn from and something that they can use. It will surely boost their morale when they receive gifts that appreciate. When handing out the gifts to your colleagues, don’t make such a big fuss about it. Everybody will know that you have given out gifts for everyone when they each get theirs so there is no need for a production number when handing them out. This is not a relief good distribution event so keep it down.

Finally, unless other employees are giving gifts to your boss and there are no issues about it, you may do so. This is an extremely sensitive issue because a lot of the bosses I know do not appreciate receiving gifts from their employees since they don’t want to add up to their employees’ additional costs and they prefer if they would just buy things they need more. It is also not acceptable for employees to provide expensive gifts to their bosses that are more than what they can afford. The boss will not feel very good in relation to it, thinking that you ought to spend on yourself more than him.

Thingamabobs That I Need At The Beach

March 16th, 2010

When I hit the beach, I do not just go there to relax in the sun and obtain a tan from lying on my face and back for a few several hours. I make sure that I also take along my personal favorite gizmos to keep me accompanied to this heavenly getaway. I think it is the perfect place to play music, take very good pictures and shoot videos that you can easily later dub music into. Certainly, I leave a large number of my gizmos in the hotel and I just bring along my reliable and helpful huge canvas tote bag from J. Crew and I am off to the beach.

Now let’s have a bag raid. If you take all the things I have inside my tote bag out, you will most likely see my Nikon D90 DSLR camera, my Sony Ericsson w902 cellular phone, my Motorola EQ7 bluetooth wireless HiFi stereo speaker, a pair of Oliver Peoples Strummer shades, my Louis Vuitton Murakami Panda Pochette, a pack of smokes, a Zippo lighter, credit cards, some cash and a whole bag of Red Vines Licorice candy twists. I so love the last stuff.

It seems as if I have brought everything but the kitchen sink. And where’s my towel? I think I forgot to bring my towel. Oh well. Even if I intended to bring my towel, there won’t be any space left in my tote bag for a towel. I could just sit on one of the beach chairs found by the shore in front of the hotel. It’s a beachfront hotel so it’s just natural that they have available beach chairs by the shore.

Then as I approach the spot where I want to just sit around for hours until the sun sets, I wave my hand, calling the attendant to hand me the menu so I could order for a lot of refreshments while I lie under the sun. He then hands me a huge menu with all sorts of yummy food to select from. Just before I get lost in each and every pizza and pasta dishes that the resort staff have been telling me of, I ask for the best-selling drink that individuals in the hotel have been ordering. He tells me that the tropical mango shake is what the folks have happened to be ordering lately simply because since mangoes tend to be freshly picked during the summer time, the shake tastes so delicious and addicting. So I ordered for a big glass of mango shake which has a cherry on top. Even though the attendant said the cherry might sink to the bottom, I told him to just let it sink if it should. Mango and cherry happen to be most effective together among all the fruits.

The spot I’ve chosen has the ideal view of the ocean’s horizon and I was just in time since people were starting to come out of their hotel rooms and they are flocking the beach front. Nearly all of them have their cameras ready for the sunset and are preparing for the Luau dinner by the shore, compliments of the hotel for all the guests checked in to the hotel. Now the sun is starting to set, it’s the right time to bring out my camera. Music has already been playing from my portable speakers with mp3 from my cellular phone.

It’s really very handy to have these gadgets with me especially here at the beach. In fact, these are the things I bring every time I go out. I just can’t leave without any of it.

Exposure Unlimited: The Benefits of Unlimited Press Release Distribution

February 2nd, 2010

When you come up with a great idea, do you keep it to yourself, never to be discussed with anyone? Maybe, but if that idea is a business idea, you\’ll get nowhere by keeping it to yourself. That\’s no way to make money! When it comes to promoting your business, one of the best ways to do it is through a press release. It\’s a very effective way to get news of your business into many media outlets and, thereby, into the consciousness of the public. If you want to really go for broke (and make lots of money doing it!) you should explore the possibility of unlimited press release distribution.

The press release is a great way to bolster your sales. When you publish a release you are placing the details of your product or service into the hands of the media, which is a very powerful way to disseminate information to the masses. When you contact large number of media reps, it\’s quite likely that a significant percentage of those reps will key in to the information you have shared as the next big thing, or at least something worth passing on. When that occurs, your potential for profits grows exponentially because they can pass the information on to some friends in the industry, and those friends can do the same, etc.

Press releases are a great resource for expanding your marketing campaign\’s reach. If your release is well crafted, full of relevant and interesting information, your release could be printed or republished by an infinite number of media outlets. Just by creating one release, your message could potentially seen over and over again by millions of people! And exposure equals potential profit, which is the point after all, right?

There are many companies out there who will help you to create press releases for your business. There are some who will help you distribute a limited number of releases to some media outlets. But there are only a few who will offer unlimited press release distribution to a variety of important media resources. Some companies will even charge you for services that don\’t even provide any true value to your company at all!

It\’s very important that you choose the right press release distribution company. As already mentioned, look for one that offers unlimited press release distribution, such as uSocial.net.
