Cast includes Joaquin Phoenix, Ed Harris, Scott Glenn, Anna Paquin, Elizabeth McGovern, Michael Pena, Leon Robinson, Gabriel Mann, and Dean Stockwell. (98 minutes, 2003)
The Barretts of Wimpole Street: Handsome, well-performed, and most amusing MGM production of classic romance between Elizabeth Barrett and Robert Browning in 19th century England. Director Franklin redid this 2 years later. Cast includes Norma Shearer, Fredric March, Charles Laughton, and Ian Wolfe. (110 minutes, 1934)
Navy Seals: Navy Seals go into the Mid-East to rescue captured US pilots. During this successful rescue, the Seals observe that the enemy terrorist have Stinger missiles in their possession. With no time to destroy the missiles, they leave them behind and complete the rescue mission. We need to recover these weapons before terrorists have the chance to use them.
Hook, Line & Sinker: Conceivably ludicrous premise about allegedly dying man who runs up one hundred thousand in credit card debt. Even Lewis fans can be bored. Cast includes Jerry Lewis, Peter Lawford, Anne Francis, Pedro Gonzalez-Gonzalez, Jimmy Miller, and Kathleen Freeman. (91 minutes, 1951)
Sergeant Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band: Try to link melodies from The Beatles’ classic album into some kind of tale line just doesn’t work; patterns range from reasonable to humiliating. As to The Bee Gees’ performing ability, well let’s just say that they are not the Beatles. Cast includes Peter Frampton, The Bee Gees, George Bums, Sandy Farina, and Steve Martin. (111 minutes, 1978)
Promises Promises: Horrible comedy in regards to couples Mansfield-Noonan and McDonald-Hargitay, and their sensual shenanigans on a voyage. It is famous in its night for Jayne’s baring her body, a first for its time. Still, take heed: it is a genuinely poor film. Cast includes Jayne Mansfield, Marie McDonald, Tommy Noonan, Mickey Hargitay, Fritz Feld, Matjorie Bennett, and Imogene Coca. (75 minutes, 1963)
