You many have noticed recently that the kids are far more interested in doing their homework and of course, most of it is done by utilizing the computer. In addition, you must admit you are impressed with some of those finished projects, and the presentation is really something. You did not realize that the little one was so artistic. Well it really comes down to just how powerful the internet really is. As for that, 3D animation that you have dubbed as your child’s artwork is really due to high tech computer software. That does not mean that the youngster was not creative in his choices.
You may be concerned that the technology we have today is making our kids and ourselves for that matter lazy. Actually, it has some major benefits. One we mentioned already and that was holding the interest of the student. We all have to admit if we have state of the art tools to complete our tasks with then we do not mind near as much doing them. The 3Danimation that we mentioned earlier is a marvelous stimulus. It spurs young people into creative problem solving skills, utilizing their imagination as well as patience and logic. You have to admit that by conventional methods to get children to this point takes a whole lot of work
Usually, Java Script functions are the last element within the head tag. The elements that cause the Java Script to execute are placed within the body tags of the HTML source, depending on where the web page designer wants the Java Script to run. Because Java Script is included in the other HTML tags in the page source, a web page with Java Script elements will be saved in exactly the same format as a web page: the file type should be an ASCII text, and the file name should have the suffix .html appended to the end of it. The script’s difference from CGI will not be clear unless we discuss both CGI and Java Scripts.
SMTP Server Address Which is the path to sendmail on your server. A sample is: smtp.yourdomamin.com (This is rarely used) Once you have those variables you can set up just about any script available. Open the scripts that you are instructed to in the “readme” file or “installation” file. These instructions should tell you which scripts need to be set up with these variables. Open these files in a HTML editor, or a text editor. The instructions should also give you the exact location where each variable should be changed or inputed.
Once you have all of the variables set, upload your scripts. They must be uploaded in ASCII, not Binary, if your FTP program makes you choose. Once uploaded your scripts need to have the permissions set in order to work. The instructions should have those permissions for you. Normally a “.cgi” or “.pl” script has it’s permissions set to 755. Your FTP program should allow you to do that somewhere in the program. I use WS_FTP95 LE. To set permissions I simply right click in the right hand window when I am in the server directory where the script is. I click on “FTP Commands” then on “Site”. I then type in the field “chmod 755 name of script”. If the script is called “abc.cgi” then I will type in “chmod 755 abc.cgi”.
Though both scripts have different functions, both CGI and Java Scripts have undoubtedly improve the way the internet works. They have also infiltrated the world of movies and televisions with digital films and fantastic characters. Who knows, maybe more uses of both scripts will be identified in the future.
