Desktop Computers – Used Computers Work Just As Well

November 26th, 2009 by Matthew Kerridge Leave a reply »

The words used desktop computers doesn’t always mean these systems are running on their last leg. Computers that have been recertified and refurbished are also considered used because they are not new off the line from the manufacturer. Some, though, do have brand new pieces installed inside and in most cases work just as well as a new system.

When desktops computers are recertified and refurbished they are check over completely and any problem are addressed accordingly. After repairs are made, these computers are resold with a warranty that promises everything is in perfect working condition. These are the safest computers to buy if you are looking to buy a used one.

Look online and you are sure to find hundreds of sites that sell these refurbished systems, all at really low prices. In many cases the prices are as low as the $200-$400 range and all of the computers have been checked and are working like new.

Some of the recertified and refurbished systems you will probably find come from top manufacturers like Sony, Dell and Compaq. All you need to do is go out and look for them.

Among the options you will encounter on these various websites is OEM versions of the different Windows Operating Systems. They are generally pretty cheap to buy and work great if you can install them yourself. OS installation is pretty simple.

Sometimes, though, we just can’t find the system that we had our hopes up for. In these cases you might consider buying an additional CD drive that you like and installing it yourself. If you don’t know how, ask around among our friends and you are sure to find at least one of them that can do it for you for almost nothing.

If your reason for wanting to get a new computer is a simple one, like watching movies, sending email or just listening to music then you can save a lot of money by buying a used desktop computer. It is always a lot cheaper to buy used in these cases and they serve the same purpose just as well. If you want to add extras to the system later on you can use the extra money you saved to do so.
