Now is the top point in history to be a movie enthusiast. It used to be that the only means you could see a good film was to visit the theater. Soon after video stores came on the scene but you had to go over there and many times the films were out of stock. You also needed to be anxious about getting the show back to the store in a timely manner or you had to pay a late fee. Even now when you can get movies in the mail, you still have to wait.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall – Here is a romantic comedy set in a stunning islands in Hawaii. After being dumped by his girlfriend Sarah, he at last decides to go to Hawaii to get over the loss. Unfortunately, when he goes to check in at the resort, the first person he sees is Sarah, and of course her new boyfriend.

Cuba Crossing – Our lead man Stuart Whitman becomes involved in a plot to take out Fidel Castro. Filmed in Key West, Florida, and at minimum the landscape is beautiful. Cast includes Stuart Whitman, Robert Vaughn, Caren Kaye, Raymond St. Jacques, Woody Strode, Sybil Danning, Albert Salmi, and Michael Gazzo. (90 minutes,’80)

The In Laws – Everyone can relate to this unpleasant situation. The in laws are coming and you just have to endure. Don’t try this at home! Unrated version runs 93. Cast includes Peter Falk, Alan Arkin, Richard Libertini, and Nancy Dussault. (103 minutes,’64)

Believe in Me – Donovan moves to a small Oklahoma town in’64 to accept a teaching job, although when he arrives he finds he has been assigned to coach the girls basketball team. What’s more, the girls have no self respect and little assistance from the school. Genuine heartland account ascends above its familiar underdog recipe. Donovan and Mathis as his encouraging spouse are first rate. Cast includes Jeffrey Donovan, Samantha Mathis, Bruce Dem, Bob Gunton, Heather Matarazzo, Alicia Lagano, and Chris Ellis. (108 minutes, 2007)

The Accidental Tourist – This film tells the account of Macon Leary, who is listless after the death of his son. This is compounded more when his wife decides to leave him because he won’t snap out of it. With a divorce impending he finds himself involved with a new woman, who is helping bring him back to life. Now his wife decides to have him back, and he is faced with more difficult questions. William Hurt, Kathleen Turner, Geena Davis, Amy Wright, and Bill Pullman star. (1988 Drama)

Basic – While things go askew throughout an armed forces work out, base captain Daly brings in Travolta, the best interrogator he ever had, to question the surviving members of the squad, whose stories don’t add up. In reality a whodunit, this motion picture keeps us guessing, as a good conspiracy should. Cast includes John Travolta, Connie Nielsen, Samuel L. Jackson, Giovanni Ribisi, Tim Daly, Roselyn Sanchez, and Harry Connick. (2003 minutes,’95)
