Cast includes Om Puri, Rachel Griffits, StelIan Skarsgard, Akbar Kurtha, Gopi Desai, Harish Patel, and Bhasker Patel. (89 minutes, 1997)

Stand Alone: Vigilante opus has miscast Durning as a war vet who goes after Latino thugs who are preying on his community. Grier is trashed in a goody-2-shoes role. Spectacle of obese Durning running around in action scenes is accidentally ludicrous. Cast includes Charles Durning, Pam Grier, James Keach, Bert Remsen, Barbara Sammeth, Lu Leonard, and Luis Contreras. (90 minutes, 1985)

The Dying Gaul: Mourning author of an autobiographical screenplay gets to be erotically intertwined with a smooth creator, who offers him 1,000,000 dollars to produce the venture as long as he makes the gay protagonists straight. In the mean time, he gets to be spiritually intertwined with the creator’s desolate spouse, a prior screenwriter turned stay-at-home mom. Twists, catastrophes, and fine behaviors mark this brilliant although thick personality research. Cast includes Patricia Clarkson, Campbell Scott, Peter Sarsgaard, Ryan .Miller, Robin Bartlett, Linda Emond, and Jason-Shane Scott. (101 minutes, 2005)

The Education of Little Tree: An eight-year-old boy, half-white and half-Cherokee, goes to live with his grandparents in the backwoods of Tennessee in 1935 and is instructed the way of life and the land. Beautifully photographed family film, but by no means takes charge, however fine performances and strong values make it delightful viewing. Cast includes James Cromwell, Joseph Ashton, Graham Greene, Mika Boorem, and Christopher Heyerdahl. (114 minutes, 1997)

Rockshow: Satisfactory show film of Paul McCartney and Wings on the road. The consequence of Dolby noise carbon copying can be lost on the tiny monitor. Cast includes Paul McCartney, Linda McCartney, Jimmy McCulloch, Joe English, and Denny Laine. (105 minutes, 1980)
