The film has an unmistakable Woody Allen-ish feel, although Burns’ script is no match for Allen. Cast includes Edward Bums, Rosario Dawson, Heather Graham, Stanley Tucci, David Krumholtz, Dennis Farina, Brittany Murphy, Callie Thome, and Aida Turturro. (107 minutes, 2001)

It’s the Rage: The lives of a group of seemingly distinct individuals are connected by personal problems which lead to resolutions with guns. This loud satire of individual and cultural brutality gets worse as it goes along, regardless of the attempts of an excellent cast. Cast includes Joan Allen, Jeff Daniels, Andre Braugher, Gary Sinise, Josh Brolin, Robert Forster, and Anna Paquin. (97 minutes, 2000)

Alien Nation: In the near future, a race of strange-looking aliens is gradually (and grudgingly) being integrated into civilization. Worldweary L.A. cop Caan takes one of the aliens on as his partner, so he could track down the aliens who murdered his prior associate. Cast includes James Caan, Mandy Patinkin, Terence Stamp, Kevin Chief Howard, and Leslie Bevins. (94 minutes, 1988)

Club Extinction: A wave of suicides stuns future Berlin. Patrol investigator Niklas starts to suspect engagement of Beals, spokesperson for an Eden like resort, who’s connected to media tycoon Dr. Marsfeldt (Bates). Cast includes Alan Bates, Jennifer Beals, Jan Niklas, Hans ZiscWer, Benoit Regent, Peter Fitz, Andrew McCarthy, Wolfgang Preiss, and Isolde Barth. (112 minutes, 1990)

Hail Caesar: Horrible music-megastar wannabe (Chamber) is in love with an offensive debutante, whose dad is plotting to yndermine an upcoming concert. Not a very good film. Cast includes Anthony Michael Chamber, Robert Downey, Jr., Frank Gorshin, Samuel L. Jackson, Judd Nelson, and Nicholas Pryor. (97 minutes, 1993)

Marie Antoinette: Visually sumptuous account of an adolescent’s voyage from Vienna to the Palace at Versailles and the throne of France. Author-director Coppola’s Marie (as played by Dunst) is a modern-day gal, with contemporary music set contrary to the pomp and circumstance of the 18th century life. Starts to tire eventually and ends with a cry, not a smash although there’s much to like here. Cast includes Kirsten Dunst, Jason Schwartzman, Judy Davis, Tear Tom, Steve Coogan, Rose Byrne, Asia Argento, Molly Shannon, Shirley Henderson, Danny Huston, Marianne Faithfull, Mary Nighy, and Sarah Adler. (123 minutes, 2006)

Season of Passion: Classy research of human being relations; MIlls and Borgnine are country workers who each year makes a trip to the city for their fling with Baxter and Lansbury. Cast includes Anne Baxter, John MiIls, Angela Lansbury, Ernest Borgnine, and Janette Craig. (93 minutes, 1959)
