Old School: Three friend now in their thirties long for the good old days. They want to go back to their college days. They decide to start an off campus frat house, and live out their college days again.

Jackie Chan’s First Strike: Hong Kong’s most visibly agile cop finds himself in a James Bond like struggle engaging the CIA, Russian mafia, an atomic weapon, and obviously, an excellent-looking girl scuba diver. The dubbing here is normally a negative, yet in a lark like this it seriously doesn’t matter. The movie is basically a nonstop action film showcasing Chan’s martial arts skills. Cast includes Jackie Chan. Chen Chun Wu, Jackson Lou, and Bill Tung. (110 minutes, 1996)

Only the Strong: An Ex-Green Beret, his old Miami high school friend now bullied by a drug lord, turns twelve of the joint’s worst criminals into crime-busters by teaching them a hypnotic, Brazilian form of martial arts. They will now settle the score. Dopey however inoffensive; at its best in potently choreographed fight scenes. Cast includes Mark Dacascos, Stacey Travis, Geoffrey Lewis, Paco Christian Prieto, Todd Susman, Jeffrey and Anderson Gunter. (96 minutes, 1993)

Sea Wife: Disarming yam of Burton and Collins subsisting on a torpedoed transport boat. He falls in love with her, not knowing she’s a nun. Set throughout WW2. Cast includes Richard Burton, Joan Collins, Basil Sydney, and Ronald Squire. (82 minutes, 1957)

Toy Story: A boy’s top choice toy, a doll named Woody, feels bullied and properly so by the emergence of a new toy, a high-tech spaceman model promoted on Television. An adult story masquerading as a kids film, this tale of kinship, fickleness, and the need for acceptance has a vibrant cast of characters led by Woody and his adversary, Thrill Light-year. Their facial proclamations and body language is as excellent as anything ever seen in a conventional animation. Cast includes Tim Allen, Don Rickles, Jim Varney, Wallace Shawn, John Ratzenberger, Annie Potts, Laurie Metcalf, and R. Lee Ermey. (80 minutes, 1995)

Blessed Event: Tracy’s most renowned role has him as a Walter Winchell mock-up whose fiery line makes him famous but also lands him in hot water. Cast includes Roy Del Ruth. Lee Tracy, Mary Brian, Dick Powell, Emma Dunn, Blunt McHugh, Allen Jenkins, Ned Kindles, and Ruth Donnelly. (81 minutes, 1932)

Madagascar: A fun animated family comedy. When Marty the zebra decides he wants to see the world from outside the zoo, the penguins help him escape. Marty is gone, his friend also breaks out to find him and bring him home. Once out, they are captured by well meaning humans and shipped to Africa, to be returned to the wild. They miss Africa, and wind up on the magical island of Madagascar.

Halloween: Sixteen years ago, at the age of ten, Michael Myers was put in prison for slaughtering his stepfather, his sister, and her boyfriend. He has escaped from prison, and is headed back to Haddonfield with vengeance on his mind. Dr. Sam Loomis is frantically trying to track him down. He knows the true evil that exists in Michael.

Stalker: Stark, eerie, cerebral tale of a strong personality, who guides eggheads Grinko and Solonitsin through the “Area,” a bizarre, prohibited swamp. Extremely slow, although well performed and gratifying. Cast includes Alexander Kaidanovsky, Nikolai Grinko, and Anatoli Solonitsin. (160 minutes, 1979)
