A tongue in cheek flick device-encumbered film finished in the fashion of a quiet melodrama; beneficial for those desiring the abnormal. Cast includes Rudolf Hrusinsky, Milos Kopecky, Nada Konvalinkova, and Ladislav Pesek. (100 minutes, 1978)

The Recruit: One of the smartest college students in the country, James Clayton gets a unique offer to work special operations for the CIA. To get the job he must go through recruiting school, known as ‘The Farm’. Here he must deal with all kinds of psychological situations, until he can’t tell reality from fiction. When he decides he has had enough, he gets a real assignment, but just what is really going on?

The Light at the Edge of the World: Amongst their quarrel for possession of an island, lighthouse keeper Douglas and ocean pirate Brynner battle it out for endearments of shipwreck sufferer Eggar. Jules Verne story has some enthusiasm, although is more often accidentally ludicrous. Cast includes Kirk Douglas, Yul Brynner, Samantha Eggar, Jean-Claude Druout, and Fernando Rey. (118 minutes, 1971)

The Choirboys: Allegedly joke adventures of LA. Cops who ease work pressures by raunchy doings. This is a Foul-mouthed, foul-minded, heavy handed film from book by Joseph Wambaugh, who disavowed this turkey. Cast includes Charles Durning, Louis Gossett, Jr., Perry Baron, Clyde Kusatsu, Stephen Macht, Tim McIntire, Randy Quaid, Don Stroud, and James Woods. (119 minutes, 1977)

Commando: Here’s an extremely loud comic magazine flick in reference to retired particular representative Schwarzenegger, who’s made to go back into motion while vengeful goons abduct his baby girl. Film’s funny bone courtesy scripter Steven E. de Souza is largely annihilated by all the sound and pointless bloodshed. Controller’s cut runs 90 minutes. Cast includes Arnold Schwarzenegger, Rae Daybreak Chong, Dan Hedaya, Vernon Wells, David Patrick Kelly, and Alyssa Milano. (88 minutes, 1985)

Necessary Roughness: The Texas State Armadillos football team has just been sanctioned by the NCAA, and has no scholarships. So they have to put the team together from the student body. With a true rag-tag team, they will try and beat the odds when they play number 1 ranked Texas.

Bringing up The Wind reveals Zany antics from an off-beat group of students at a London school of music are well paced. The Cast includes James Robertson, Leslie Phillips, Sidney James, Paul Massie, and Kenneth Williams. (91 minutes, 1961)
